The $Money$ Is In The List! [And The Relationship] How To Create an Email Mailing List Through Lead Generation
How To Create an Email Mailing List Through Lead Generation
While using social media is awesome for marketing your business online, creating a marketing list is truly still the top way to market and create sales. This list is your “warm lead” list, a list of people that have shown interest in what you have to say by entering their email, and is a list you can reach at the touch of a “Send” button with an email. Social media posts fly by so quickly, a Tweet, for example, lasts only 8 seconds! In this post, I will talk about how to create an email mailing list through lead generation.
How To Create an Email Mailing List Through Lead Generation
First, let’s get out of the way that you should never buy an email list. You want people to come to you, because you’ve attracted them to you, because they are interested in what you have to say. Below are ways you can quickly grow your email list:
- Create good email content – If you have a blog or website write up an engaging email with the first couple sentences of your post. Write an exciting subject title that hooks the reader. Examples of this would be “5 Ways to Hack Instagram” Or “Tweet like the Pros” or something like that. That gets your reader’s attention.
- Ask your email subscribers to share your emails and/or content – Make sure that you have share buttons in your emails as well as “email to a friend” links in your emails. Include a SUBSCRIBE link to the bottom of your emails as well so if your message is sent to someone new, it will be easy to find.
- Use an opt-in lead generation page – You can find this for free on Google, or use paid services such as LeadPages, Aweber, GetResponse as a few examples.
- Give away free stuff – Using these opt-in pages mentioned in #3, you can give away free content and information. Your user will want to get a list, infographic, document, pdf, whatever you have to offer in your field, and will enter his or her email address for you to send it. These names can be added to your list!
- Create and use an auto-signature on your emails – Make sure the link to your opt-in page is listed there.
- Create videos and maintain a You Tube channel – People absolutely love videos. Be sure to teach something about your field using these videos. In the description include a link to your opt-in page so you can add these people to your list!
- On your website or blog, make sure your offer is in front of the reader. Have links present to your leadpages that prompt the users to give you their email address.
- Determine your strategy – Make sure you know what your end goal is, otherwise you will just be writing and posting blindly about anything. If you are marketing to a specific audience, keep it limited to that audience.
- Determine where your traffic is coming from – A way to do this is to create separate accounts for each, and put a different email capture page on each of them. This way you can track where your followers and subscribers are coming from.
- You need your own home on the web – If you start a free blog, then you’re behind the 8 ball from the beginning. You need to start your own blog that is hosted and offers up features such as plugins, templates, etc. CONTACT ME ABOUT STARTING YOUR BLOG TODAY.

The way I have built my list mainly has been to write great, shareable content, and by interacting with the online community. Social media is the best platform for this. Promote your offers by sending the readers back to your bio, where you can include an opt-in form link to capture their email. Deliver them something they can use and that will provide exceptional value in your niche. Your reader will appreciate you for helping them and offering them free stuff. Who doesn’t like free? Having a blog will give your readers a place to go to read what you have to say, away from all the noise in Facebook, Instagram, (especially) Twitter. Facebook has billions of users you are competing with! Facebook also has random, secret rules as to what posts they are going to show in news feeds, including your own friends. Tweets move at the speed of light, and only a handful of your followers will see what you have to say. Instagram is gaining more users by the day, and feeds are passing by more quickly each day. Including a bio with a capture page link on each of these accounts will lead your interested readers to your bread-n-butter; your list.
