Ready to cover 17 Creative Ways to Improve & Get More Facebook Business Page Likes?

Great! Let’s go.

There are well over forty-two million active Facebook pages. So if you want your page to stand out from the crowd you will need to grow your audience and get more Facebook business page likes.

In this article we will give you the best of the best suggestions. Actual strategies we use at IMU to increase our Facebook Business page. Keep in mind, these strategies work well for any groups you may have as well.

17 Creative Ways to Increase Facebook Business Page Likes

  1. Invite your Email Contacts

Facebook used to have a build audience feature that enabled you to send up to 5,000 invitations at a time to your email contacts.

You may have noticed In 2015 this feature was removed. Some of us were probably grateful for the switch, receiving a few hundred invitations a day could get very wearisome.

The best option to grow your business pages organically is to email your contacts to generate new fans.

You can send your own invitations to your email contacts using a regular email service like Gmail.

Keep in mind that Gmail has a sending limit of 99 recipients per email and 2,000 emails per day.

If you use a paid email marketing service (we use ConvertKit), you can bypass the sending limit restrictions.

We have included a scripted email message that works best for letting your email contacts know about your Facebook Business page.

A quick message and a link work best.

Hi,

(Your name) here.

I am emailing you to let you know about my new Facebook Business page I just launched for (Your business or product name here).

This is where I’ll be sharing my best tips to help (list several different problems your page solves for them).

I’d really appreciate it if you like my new page and if you do you will get my best content first.

Here’s the link: (Facebook Business Page Link)

Thank you,

(Your Name)

Everytime we mention the IMU Facebook Business page or group (IMU Biz Nation) in our emails, using the script above, we net hundreds of monthly Facebook likes and dozens of new group members. We are  confident that using a similar script could work for you too.

There is ALSO a super Ninja Sneaky Facebook Feature to Invite Friends to Like Your Page

You might have completely missed this feature, and yet it is so useful! Only by doing research for this article were we able to stumble across this gem!!

As we mentioned above it is highly beneficial for your Facebook Business Page traffic to invite your contacts to Like your Facebook Page.

You can target highly specific “types” of people that your business would be perfect for. All you have to do it click on the 3 dot (…) button (see figure below) then click Invite Friends.

Once you select “Invite Friends” a pop-up gives you a large selection of people that fall into certain categories.

From the drop down menu choose “ Search All Friends”, then

See from the image below? IMU is able to selectively target “Self Employed Professionals” or “Stay at home parents”. Voila, now you can creatively invite people that are more likely to be receptive to your posts.

  1. Routinely Give Away Great Incentives to Facebook Page Fans

Give your fans great content and prizes and this will get your fans posting about your page so that they are in the top of your mind when it comes time to dish out the goods.

Create a custom experience by asking your fans what kind of content and prizes they would like the most.

Really care about your fans and find ways to go above and beyond with the content and promotions you launch on your page. When you go the extra mile for your fans they will go the extra mile to help you grow your page and succeed.

3. Offer an Incentive for People to Like Your Page

The more valuable your incentive is, the more people will be compelled to click the “Like” button after they access it.

An eBook or eCourse are two types of incentives that are excellent for attracting new fans.

eCourses are arguably more effective since these are delivered over time so they help create a relationship between you and your fans. Compare this to an eBook download, which some people will download and may never read.

4. Know Your Audience & Understand Your “Relevance” Score

The better you know your audience the easier it will be for you to target your content and get great results.

Click the insights chart on your Facebook page admin panel to access your demographics.

Visit fb.com/insights to access the insights for any of the pages you manage.

By knowing the general age and gender of your fans you can better target your content.

In addition to the age and gender of your fans insights also let’s you know about the most popular counties, cities, and languages of your fans.

With more successful content you’ll be able to attract more free fans since you’ll get greater exposure in the news feed.

Understand a HUGE Facebook Feature: Relevance Score

Relevance Score is critically important for your likes and fans when / if you plan on driving traffic from Facebook ads.

Relevance Score guides both how often your ad will be displayed and how much you’ll pay for each ad engagement.

Facebook considers a lot of different factors when calculating your RS, including positive vs negative feedback via video views, clicks, comments, likes and other ad interactions. It also counts against you when someone reports your ad, or tells Facebook they don’t want to see it anymore.

So how can you tell when it needs work? When looking at either an Ad or an Ad Set, navigate to “Customize columns.”

Find and select “Relevance Score” from the list of available columns.

It’s unchecked by default, go ahead and check it. This will be critical to getting your ads seen by an audience who actually cares.

5. Update Your Personal Page Status Using the @Tagging Feature

Status tagging is a highly effective feature of Facebook.

Capture6

See the image above? All we did was tag our Facebook Business (group in this example) as our status update.

This feature attracts traffic to your page by posting on the page of the brand, personal page, or even friends that you tag.

6. Post Epic Content

Content is all we have as marketers anymore. Content is so important, in fact, that Facebook now gives good content it’s own term, a “Thumbstopper”. Literally, when your content makes someone stop scrolling through their feed and pay attention to you for a couple of seconds.

Posting awesome content is a great way to get your page to spread virally.

Infographics are highly shareable and get great results.

Watermark your images (see  #9 for a good program to use) to get traffic to your secondary location when yours shared inside or outside of Facebook.

Capture5

Link to your fan page in the description. Be the first to share your content to a few relevant groups after you post it.

People are more likely to share content after it has already been shared, and every time someone shares your content this includes a link back to your page that could lead to new fans.

7. Leave Insightful Comments (as your page) on Other Pages

This is a great way to get more exposure for your Business Page with your target audience.

Go to the top right of the blue bar at the top of Facebook and click the down facing arrow to select the “voice” you want to use for your comment.

Capture4

Participate on other Pages where your audience is already having conversations.

As always, the ‘rule of thumb’ is to add value to the conversation. The quicker you start spamming your products, the quicker you will get banned from the group (and make a lousy reputation for yourself!) Simply build authentic relationships.

Meaningful connections, positive encouragement, and true interest in the conversations will yield you a successful community of interested fans.

8. Upload Videos to Your Facebook Page

Facebook videos are very underrated, and can provide a great way to drive traffic and Fans to your page if your video content is compelling enough for people to share it.

When you embed a Facebook video on another website this video includes a watermark link in the top left corner to the fan page it came from.

9. Watermark Your Graphics & Videos

Beacon of Light

To watermark images use an image editing program like the free web image editing tool Canva.

Even when you are working with motivational quotes, at IMU we always add a watermark with a call to action that drives engagement to our website (GoIMU.com)

For videos use a video editing program include a link to your website.

You can use a program like Camtasia to record screencast videos then use a feature that makes adding a graphic with a URL easy to do.

Camtasia comes with a free 30 day trial.

10. Get Your Customers to Like Your Facebook Page

If someone likes you enough to buy your product then there is a good chance that they will like you on Facebook as well.

Rig up your “thank you” page with a Facebook “Like Box” and you’ll be good to go!

11. Send Your Fans to Your Blog

Tell your fans to go check out your website when you publish new blog posts.

If your blog promotes products or services this can actually make you money when you post about new blog posts on Facebook.

Without a doubt, Facebook is consistently a top traffic source for us.

Google will organically send us visitors daily as long as our content is highly valuable, whereas how much traffic Facebook sends us is largely dependant on what and how often we post.

Create high quality content and you will pull traffic from Google, Facebook, and any other  social media sites your visitors are sharing your content.

Make sure your blog is equipped with Facebook Like buttons and other social media buttons so your fans can easily spread your content and bring you free traffic.

  1. Space Out Your Facebook Page Updates

By using Buffer to manage your Facebook pages you can maximize engagement by scheduling your posts ahead of time.

Head over to the “Insights” tab again. Clicking on “posts” will give you a graphic with peak user times depicted.

Capture7

If you post 2 status updates a day for your page over five days this will get you far better results than posting 10 updates in one day.

During this specific time, we can see that the majority of our fans were on at 1:pm (local time) and 7:00pm.

Therefore, we would head over to Buffer and schedule our 2 posts for the day to go out automatically at those times.

If you are managing just one page at a time this is the best way to schedule updates.

13. Run a Facebook Contest or a Monthly Promotion

By highlighting one of your best fans every month you indirectly encourage fans to engage more, so that they can win the coveted fan of the month title the next month.

Offer a monthly prize, such as a cool free product, trip, or service related to your brand, and the competition title will increase.

Facebook Contest Idea: Award Your Prizes to the audience member who shares your posts with the most people. Have them tag your page every time they share to get credit!

14. Update Your Timeline Cover

Updating your timeline cover is a smart way to attract attention to your page by being a very visible piece of content in the news feed of the fans who see it.

Capture 8

Include a link in your description to your email capture page and build your email list! We prefer to use the Call to Action “Sign-up”. You can also choose “Watch video” etc. Making your call to action generate a lead for your email marketing is one of the most valuable pieces of your Facebook Business page.

15. Connect with Other Page Managers

Don’t underestimate the value of cross promotion.

Even one cross-promotion a week will help you get a stream of new “likes” with no investment on your part required besides the time it takes to suggest the opportunity to your cross promotion partner.
